1. Chip injury and protective measures.

The various steel parts processed on the lathe have good toughness. The chips generated during turning are rich in plastic curl and the edges are sharp. When cutting steel parts at high speed, red hot ground and long chips are formed, which is easy to hurt people. At the same time, they are often wound on workpieces, turning tools and tool holders. Therefore, iron hooks should be used to clean or break-in time. Stop and clear it at any time, but never remove or pull off by hand. To prevent chip damage, often take chip breaking, control chip flow direction measures and add various protective baffles. Chip breaking measures are to grind chip breaking grooves or steps on the turning tool; use appropriate chip breakers and mechanically clamp the tool.

2. Loading of a workpiece.

During the turning process, accidents such as damage to the machine tool due to improper clamping of the workpiece, broken or damaged tools, and falling or flying injuries of the workpiece are numerous. Therefore, in order to ensure the safe production of the turning process, special attention must be paid when clamping the workpiece. For parts of different sizes and shapes, appropriate clamps should be selected, and the connection between the three-jaw, four-jaw chuck or special clamps and the spindle must be stable and reliable. The workpiece must be straightened and clamped, and the large workpiece can be clamped with a sleeve to ensure that the workpiece does not shift, fall off, or throw out when the workpiece is rotated at high speed and subjected to cutting force. If necessary, it can be strengthened with a center, a center frame and the like. Remove the handle immediately after it is tightened.

3. Safe operation.

Before working, check the machine thoroughly and make sure it is ready for use. The clamping of the workpiece and the tool ensures the correct position, firmness and reliability. During processing, the tool must be stopped when changing tools, loading and unloading workpieces, and measuring workpieces. When the workpiece is rotating, do not touch it with your hands or wipe it with cotton wool. It is necessary to properly select the cutting speed, feed amount and strenuous depth, and no overload processing is allowed. Workpieces, tooling fixtures and sundries shall not be placed on the headboard, tool rest and bed surface. When using the file, move the turning knife to a safe position with the right hand in front and the left hand in the back to prevent the sleeves from getting caught. The machine must have a special person responsible for its use and maintenance, and its personnel must not be used.
